1904 World's Fair Residential Window
This window was originally purchased at the 1904 World's Fair in St. Louis, MO. as reported and documented by the owner. It has been in the same family for that entire time. The window was removed from the home prior to the house being demolished to make way for road construction.
The window came into our shop for repairs in 2023. Bows and bulges in the window were flattened and broken solder joints were resoldered as needed. After these repairs the window was cleaned, recemented, and installed into a new frame. Installation into the new frame included attaching new copper wire ties used to secure and support the window to original round steel rods that were keyed into the new frame.
Window prior to repairs. Center section between the round bars is bulging out. Solder joints were broken due to the stress
